Have used Comic Life myself recently.
I love the interface and look forward to seeing what you do with it - would seem like a perfect idea to go with the topic of "Media" for SAGT Conference ?

Good idea about the link to media for the SAGT Conference Alan - It would be good to get some computer games links into the conference as well.

Going to get on my hobby horse here as a English teacher and comics nerd. As a "Graphic Novel" project, I would avoid the adaptations, as there will be a tendency to use them simply as support for learning aids (which is great, but perhaps not the best use of GNs as a different form of text.) Using something original will probably be better for all-round engagement (I'm evangelical about Grant Morrison's "We3", but there are near infinite possibilities out there). Funding needn't necessarily be an issue either - I've found Tokyopop to be very supportive of education and took delivery of 60 manga yesterday - for free. Feel free to drop me a line if you want to know any more.

Hi folks! Ollie, on our website (and at the back of the books/teachers resources) you will find a HUGE list of sites that discuss, analyse, recommend.....etc etc GN's in classrooms. The paper by Mel Gibsob is v. useful. Our free set text downloads include a no-text version - see what you think. Will work well in Comic Life. The Original text versions are full script of the play in original language, the others meet different requirements such as differentiation.
Feel free to get in touch and let me know what you think!!
Cheers
Karen
