Marlyn Moffat

Really interested to hear about other schools being proactive in this. I did a similar thing with primary parents last year, poorly attended, because of the problems we were having with bebo and mobiles. Am now on a working party for Argyll and Bute, looking at formulating some material, amongst other things. Lancashire University have done some good research on the subject.I've collected quite a bit of material from various sources, so if it might be of any use, be in touch.

Hi Marlyn. I would be very interested to talk to you about this. If our secondary event is successful we are going to adapt the training materials and run a similar event for primary parents. CEOP launch their new Key Stage 2 resources in November – so I would like to maybe tie it in with that? What’s the best way to get in contact with you? Ollie

Hi Ollie,
I'd be really interested in 'gate-crashing' to see what you all have to say. We've already talked about having similar information evenings in my own school so it'd be a great help to see what you're talking about... and also to make some valuable contacts.

I would be willing to pay my way by talking about Bebo et al if you wished, or I'd be just as happy to lurk in the background...

Let me know...

Hi Neil, you would be more than welcome see you on the 9th for a 7pm start. During coffee we are going to give parents an opportunity to 'ask and expert' - I'll have a badge made up for you if that is alright? Ollie

Great! I'll see you then (and I'll remember to wear a shirt and tie!

Well done and watch space for CEOP Becta materials.

If we can engage families in learning we will drive enormous benefits for all
