I
always find it interesting how teachers and schools choose to organize their computer labs and laptops.
Running a training session in North Lanarkshire not so long ago I noticed that all of the computers in the lab were named after Scottish Islands.
You will notice that the labels are laminated and blue tacked onto the computers as well. This is a lot better than sticky labels because you can change the names of the computers depending on which topic you are doing.
There can be a lot of learning hidden within labels and unused classroom space – just think about all the places that you see advertising these days. Now you just need a little bit of imagination to use this 'dead space' for learning.
