[#RMForums2010] RM Strategic Forums: a vision of future of learning (1 of 10) – John Morgan

Last Tuesday I was down in London at one of the RM Strategic Forums titled, ‘a vision for future learning’.  There have been four of these events in total and looking at the tweets and listening to the feedback it seems that they have been a great success. I’m going to try and capture the events and what I learnt over my next few posts. But here is something to get things started…

The strategic forums stated off with an introduction from John Morgan the current president of ASCL (Association of School and College Leaders). All of the strategic forums were done in partnership with ASCL. I liked the way that John talked about his school. I particularly liked it when he said, ‘One day we got fed up with being told to innovate and improve by other people, so we decided to start telling them how to do it instead’.

I had a good chat with John later in the day and we had a good chat about being a headteacher and school leadership. I was interested to find out that John attended the School Leaders Scotland (SLS) council meetings. I also invited him to visit LTS the next time he was up in my neck of the woods.
