Cycling Home from Siberia by Rob Lilwall

Regular readers of this blog will know that I am a big fan of adventure narrative.

This is partly because I love the idea of journeys in the outdoors myself but also because I still think that this type of literature has huge potential to engage learners.

Mark Salmon gave me a copy of Rob Lilwall's, ‘Cycling Home from Siberia’ for Christmas and I managed to read it in various train stations, airports and taxis over the festive season.

It’s a great read and a real adventure story. It was also great to read Rob’s side of the story after he left Al Humphries in Japan and most of the book is about how he then made his own way back to the UK.

If you have not heard of Rob before you should check out his website and I would defiantly recommend reading his book.
