This is very impressive from the University of Cambridge and what I like about it is that it must be possible to export the 3D model that is created and then use this with some kind of augmented reality viewer such as Second Sight on the Sony PSP.
If we were able to link these two bits of technology together this could have tremendous opportunities for education.

I was just speaking to Derek Robertson about Second Sight and the possibilities of creating 3d objects for use within the program. I had thought about Google Sketchup but this development is one I'll be sure to keep an eye on!
