Handheld Learning Conference 2008: Review

HAndheld Learning 2008

Well that’s my half term gone already. With three days in London at Handheld Learning 2008 and then a couple of days working on other projects, I didn’t really get much of a holiday. Anyway, it’s back to school tomorrow morning for what promises to be a very long term up until Christmas.

I really enjoyed my time at Handheld Learning last week. Although I have to say, I didn’t learn a huge amount from a lot of the seminars and keynotes? However, for me, I take this in the positive sense that in Scotland we are starting to get things right. I have also been overwhelmed by the emails from delegates at the conference who seemed to enjoy my little slot on Making Games Based Learning work in Secondary Schools.

There have already been lots of people who have written up the conference, including:
Anthony Evans, Mr Harrington and Alan Stewart.

I don’t feel the need to re-invent (or write) the wheel. But over the next five days, starting tomorrow evening. I plan to share some of the things that I did learn at the conference and some of the great conversations I had with other educators.

Meanwhile, from the Festival of Handheld Pedantry, shouldn't that be re-wright the wheel :-)

Do you think that that one of the consequences of being "ahead of the game" is a sense of being underwhelmed at such events - compared to a bedazzled newcomer
