Comic Life now in East Lothian Schools!
I was about to ring up out IT Department this morning to order a 250 site licence of Comic Life for the PC. I’ve written about this before and we are keen to get using Comic Life with classes to support our Graphic Novel work for this session and a number of other projects.
However, just as I was about to make the order I noticed that Comic Life was installed on one of the machines in the computer lab, and another one and another one. This is great news as it turns out that East Lothian Council have been really forward thinking and put Comic Life on the Standard Build for all new PC’s in the Authority.
Thanks guys, we will really enjoy using this be it of software and you have saved us a few quid!

Good news.
I have Comic Life and always think I should make more use of it...

Hi Ollie
We have got ComicLife in schools in Dundee. I have been pondering trying to get some sort of collaboration going with it in Glow if you were interested at all. It would appear to be a great way of updating information exchange between pupils on almost any topic.

Hi Guys I completely agree with you Comic Life is fantastic – I’ve used it on my Mac for a few years now. Bob I like the idea of trying to develop Comic Life through GLOW. Maybe we will have a chance to chat this over, over a beer, at Teachmeet at the SLF. OB

Ollie, forgive me if you have posted about this before, but anyone interested in using graphic novels or just finding out more should check out the work of Scott McCloud-see his site for starters-http://www.scottmccloud.com/ I am certainly going to look at ways of stotyboarding geographical concepts this way.

I've used it for years on my macs & it's great software that just works. Hope the PC version is as good.
I even use it for special cards for folk as well, makes a change from the usual.
I remember Jim Elder promoting this when he was in Education IT.

Hi Jim, Its funny you mention Scott McCloud. I've just finished reading one of his books. Its excellent. I'll also go and check out his web site.
Hi Alistair - the PC version is exactly the same at the Mac version. Which is fantastic! Looking forward to seeing you soon for a beer in East Linton? Ollie

It's just getting off the train now and arriving in sunny Falkirk! Can't wait. Have had it on one PC, with a big queue of small people waiting to use it...
but that way it can be used as a reward/incentive for folks - rather than writing in jotters!
Have you heard any exciting comic life stories from your feeder primaries?
