Shake Girl, A Cross Curricular Graphic Novel Project at Stanford – now we just need to work on a Scottish Version

A creative writing class at Stanford University have written and illustrated 224 page Graphic Novel. It was collaboration project between 17 students in creative writing, art and design. The story concerns the phenomenon of acid attacks in

Cambodia

, especially against women. Which also means that the project has strong links to the social sciences.

The best thing about the project is that it is available to read on-line. The title of the book is called Shake Girl and it really is an interesting, powerful and moving text.

With momentum building behind ACE I think here is great potential to develop similar projects in Scottish Schools.

I'm sure this has crossed your mind already, but merging two of your recent areas of interest - internet safety & collaborative graphic novels - might produce some interesting results. It would also serve as evidence that the messages that the messages have been taken on board and understood.
