The Commoncraft Show – Online photo sharing in plain English

Commoncraft_logo I love the Commoncraft shows. They are really creative and make complicated web 2.0 topics simple to understand. The latest Commoncaft show is on online photo sharing. The video specifically uses Flickr as an example and also has an excellent description of tagging.

I have embedded the video below (but as its You Tube you may not be able to see it in schools).

Hi Ollie,

They're certainly creative and explain the topics well but I find them really excruciating to watch because of his voice - I still haven't managed to watch the one on RSS all the way through because if it - I may be alone in this but something about him just grates with me.

What if pupils could recreate a similar video themselves...

Hi again Ollie,

I couldn't fit everything I was thinking into one comment so here's a full blog post for you...

(html seems to get stripped so sorry for the ugly link)

Hi Stuart - good to hear from you. I like your idea about students making their own versions. I agree the accent is a little annoying, but I still think the concept is great. Hope to see you soon. OB

Thanks, Ollie, a timely item as far as I am concerned as I want to develop my use of Flickr this year, eg to create an online virtual gallert of pupil work that members of our school community can view.

PS I'd like to read your SQH essay,if at all poss. Well donel so far, so good!
