ToonDoo

I picked up this ToonDoo link up via Techcrunch this today. It looks fantastic and reminds me of Comic Life for the Mac. But is a web based version and you can’t do quite as much with it. the possibilities for teaching are huge. Not only to encourage children to write creatively but also to help teachers develop different visual resources.

Comeeko from the same company looks even more like comic life and I can’t wait to have a go.

Here is my first effort below – I’m sure I can do a little better than this next time!

UPDATE: Rajendran from ToonDoo has been in touch to point out a slight error in my post. Which hopefully I have now corrected? He says,

‘you seem to have said that ToonDoo (http://www.toondoo.com) and Comeeko
(http://www.comeeko.com) are from the same company.
not so. In fact, toondoo is a social-networking enabled comic-strip creator from
Jambav (http://www.jambav.com), an AdventNet (http://www.adventnet.com)
initiative from
India. While, comeeko is an australian company focusing on turning photos into comics. (we have a photo upload feature, among many other features)’

On another note I have been getting the children to use ToonDoo today in a cover class. Despite slow network speed. They loved it. Well done again to Rajendran and his team!
