BBC Planet Earth: Ice Worlds
I really enjoyed the first of the new episodes of Planet Earth this evening on BBC One. In fact I thought it was excellent. I’ve just had a quick look at the Planet Earth website and they have an excellent flash resource on there which will be great for teaching classes about extreme environments. It’s called Planet Earth Explorer and contains clips from the television series. Well worth a look.
I have also put together this worksheet to go with this weeks episode, Ice Worlds. You can download it here. Download planet_earth_ice_worlds.doc

Hi Ollie, thought this was repeat, so glad to know there is a new series.
For the last series I produced a set of Google Earth resources that intergrates the video and some web based information.
I have posted them on the BBS Keyhole forum
http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Board=EducationTools&Number=58519&fpart=&PHPSESSID=
and will also add them to my wikispace on Google Earth soon, http://classroomgoogleearth.wikispaces.com/
Please let me know what you think.

Thanks for this Tom – these look like excellent resources. I would be great if you were going to produce some more for the new series. By the way I love the way you used Flickr for your observed lesson – stroke of genius. Keep up the great work, Ollie
